Do you have to be a student?
No, you do not have to be a student. We accept community contributors.
Does working as an Editor pay me?
Writers are enrolled as students. Returning students can either contribute as either JOUR230 student, as a practicum intern, or played student work force if in the term before graduation.
I’m a photography/graphic design/art student. Can I contribute my work, without writing?
Yes, you can contribute the media you specialize in without writing. However, if enrolled in our JOUR classes, you must complete the required writing assignments.
I don’t think those articles you publish are appropriate for a community college.
As an independent student newspaper, we reserve the right to publish independent pieces that reflect the opinions of our students and staff. Views published do not represent MSJC, it’s campuses, or any of the other featured parties.
I want to advertise my local business. Can I do that?
